Jessie James Decker Sparks Debate After Spraying Barefoot Passenger's Foot on Plane
The singer's video of the incident, accompanied by a question to her followers, ignited a discussion about airline etiquette.
Jessie James Decker ignited a social media debate after sharing a video that showed her spraying a substance near a bare foot resting on an airplane armrest. The country singer posted the clip, which included text stating, "Someone’s foot smells so bad on the plane," and asked her 4.4 million Instagram followers, "Before you come at me…What would you have done?"
The video prompted a flurry of reactions, with many users expressing sympathy for Decker and criticizing the unidentified passenger. "The nerve of some people!" one commenter wrote, while another cheered, "I’d do just what you did!!! Spray the stinky foot!!!" Some suggested more extreme measures, with one user stating, "They should’ve been escorted off the plane."
A former flight attendant commented on the incident, emphasizing the importance of respecting personal space and airplane cleanliness. "As a past flight attendant, when I saw people put their feet on the arm rest. I immediately told them no, this isn’t their home. Respect the plane & people around you. That is so F in nasty," the individual wrote, adding that they "would have smacked his foot with my elbow."
However, some social media users speculated that the foot might have belonged to Decker's husband, former NFL player Eric Decker, rather than a stranger. "Please tell me that's Eric's foot and not some random person's foot!" one follower commented. Others shared similar sentiments, with one suggesting, "I’m guessing that’s Eric’s foot? You are far too sweet to do that to a stranger…"
Others offered humorous or alternative solutions to the situation. Suggestions ranged from "Tickle tickle!" to drawing on the foot with a sharpie or pretending to sneeze before spraying. Decker did not identify the owner of the foot in her video.
Jessie James Decker and Eric Decker, who married in 2013, have four children: Vivianne, Eric Jr., Forrest, and Denver.
