Jessica Lange Calls FX "F--king Cheap" Over "American Horror Story" Season 3 Treatment
The actress recalled having to drive herself and co-stars home in the early morning hours during filming.
Jessica Lange has voiced her frustration with FX, calling the network "f--king cheap" for not providing car services to the cast of "American Horror Story" Season 3. The 77-year-old actress shared her "bone of contention" during a PaleyFest event on Thursday, recalling that the cast had to drive themselves during the filming of the "Coven" season.
"We had to drive ourselves," Lange stated in a fan-captured video. She added, with a sarcastic salute to the network, "Thank you, FX." The anecdote was met with laughter from co-stars Sarah Paulson and Billie Lourd, among others.
Lange explained that during the 2013 filming in New Orleans, cast members would drive themselves home around 4 or 5 in the morning, parking on French Quarter streets and finding their own way home. She reiterated that the network was "too f--king cheap" to provide transportation, although she acknowledged that she ultimately "had a good time" because New Orleans is a favorable location for shooting.
Social media users have reacted to Lange's comments, with some finding it astonishing that the cast lacked drivers. One user humorously speculated about people claiming to have seen Lange walking alone in the early hours.
Reps for FX had not immediately responded to requests for comment.
Lange, who played Fiona Goode in "Coven," has appeared in multiple "American Horror Story" seasons, earning two Emmy Awards for her roles. She recently returned for Season 13 after an eight-year hiatus. Her conditions for reprising her roles included portraying the four characters she originated and working with her former castmates, whom she considered a "repertory company."

Earlier, Ryan Murphy had stated that Lange's primary condition for returning was the inclusion of a musical number. However, Lange clarified on Thursday that she does not anticipate further involvement with the series, stating, "We're not going to keep bringing these old bitches back. We've had enough!"
