Fox News host Jesse Watters stated he would not condemn remarks made by Georgia Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff regarding Trump aide Natalie Harp, explaining that Donald Trump himself has made far more inflammatory statements about others. Watters' comments came during a discussion on "The Five" following Ossoff's viral remarks.
During a speech, Ossoff stated that the president "doesn't actually want to do the job," but instead "wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the emir of Qatar." Natalie Harp's role as a Trump aide includes managing his Truth Social account and compiling positive news articles about him. She has also reportedly sent Trump personal messages such as, "You are all that matters to me," "I don’t ever want to let you down," and "I want to bring you joy."
White House Communications Director Steven Cheung responded to Ossoff's remarks by calling him a "cuck loser." Other individuals, including CNN contributor Scott Jennings, also attempted to defend Trump.
When pressed by "The Five" co-host Dana Perino that Ossoff's comments were part of a prepared speech, Watters responded, "Has Trump said so much worse, so much more sleazy things against other people? Yes. Have I defended those things? Absolutely. So, I’m not going to pretend I’m all hot and bothered about this."
Watters' measured response garnered attention on social media. Jessica Tarlov, a fellow panelist on "The Five" who was not present for the discussion, posted on X, "Hate when I’m out for these moments of clarity."
