Jersey City's Loew’s Wonder Theater in Journal Square is set to reopen its doors on November 13, marking the end of a two-year, $130 million restoration project and 40 years of neglect. The 1929 movie palace will launch its revival with a performance by the Trey Anastasio Band, followed by The War on Drugs the next evening.
Originally designed by the architectural firm Rapp and Rapp, known for numerous American movie houses, the Loew’s Jersey opened just weeks before the 1929 stock market crash. It was one of five
