Jerry O'Connell has shared a candid detail about his wife, Rebecca Romijn, admitting her body odor smells "funky," but that he finds it endearing. On a recent episode of the "Thanks Dad with Ego Nwodim" podcast, O'Connell, 52, disclosed that Romijn uses crystals as a deodorant, a method he says is ineffective.
"Well, I have to tell you, my wife, Rebecca Romijn, rubs crystals under her arms," O'Connell said. "And I’m here to tell everyone, it doesn’t work."
Despite the lack of effectiveness, O'Connell stated he doesn't find the scent offensive. "I actually, ah — this is gonna get a little dirty — I kind of like it when I can smell my wife’s body odor," he confessed. "It’s kind of like, yea — she’s alive, we’re alive, we’re living. It’s, like, a little kicking and like, it’s a little funky town."
O'Connell and Romijn, 53, married in 2007 and are parents to 17-year-old twin daughters, Dolly and Charlie. The actor has previously spoken about their relationship, including an anecdote from a "Live with Kelly and Mark" appearance where his mother offered to help him escape his own wedding.
In that interview, O'Connell recalled his mother, Linda O'Connell, telling him, "You don’t have to do this! I’m just sayin’! You can, if you want… You can go to the airport — no questions. We’ll cover for you. It’s okay. You sure about this? She’s a beautiful girl, she’s very nice, but you sure about this?"
O'Connell clarified that his mother now loves Romijn, and Linda O'Connell herself echoed this sentiment during the joint interview. Romijn has also discussed the couple's marital strategies, including maintaining separate finances with a shared account for joint expenses. She mentioned on SiriusXM's "Andy Cohen Live" that they practice tag-teaming in their careers and have an agreement that one parent would always be home with their children, emphasizing that they are the primary caregivers.
