Jerry Jones Supports Fan's Criticism of Dak Prescott After Cowboys Loss
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones stated he is 'for our fans expressing themselves' after a stadium worker confronted quarterback Dak Prescott.
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has offered support for a stadium worker who confronted quarterback Dak Prescott following the team's recent loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The incident occurred as Prescott was returning to the locker room after the game, when a man was heard shouting "embarrassing" in his direction.
Prescott, in response, expressed his displeasure to a Cowboys staffer, stating, "Tough guy. Get his a** out of here." According to Pro Football Talk, the individual was a driver hired by a third-party contractor, not a direct employee of the Cowboys.
Speaking on 105.3 The FAN, Jones indicated he did not view the fan's actions negatively. "It doesn't impact me at all," Jones said. "Fans can express themselves, and should express themselves. Whether he was our employee or not, he was a fan, it sounds like. I'm for our fans expressing themselves."
Tensions were reportedly high during the game, which saw the Cowboys' record drop to 2-3. Owner and general manager Jerry Jones was observed slamming his hands on a table in front of him after Prescott threw a game-sealing interception. Cameras also captured Jones leaving the building before the game concluded.
Jones later described himself as "extraordinarily disappointed" with the team's performance, emphasizing the need to "get it done."
Prescott, reflecting on the tunnel incident, commented on the individual's reaction. "When he said it I just happened to look at him, and at that point he looked away, didn't look, and when I turned my head back, he said something else," Prescott explained. "So that's the part that, just as a man or a person, feel free to speak your mind. Just speak it. Don't coward away from the reaction that you're going to get. If you're saying it's embarrassing, say it's embarrassing. If you're saying it to me, say it to me. Don't go back on it. That's all it was. I hate that it's even being talked about, to be honest with you."
