Jerry Jones Sees Super Bowl Hope in Dak Prescott's Elevated Play

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is optimistic about the team's Super Bowl prospects, citing quarterback Dak Prescott's current high level of play as a key factor. Jones stated that Prescott is the best quarterback he has ever been around and that his performance "gives us our best chance" to win a championship.

Prescott recently set a franchise record for passing touchdowns during the Cowboys' victory over the Washington Commanders. Jones praised Prescott's dedication to self-improvement and work ethic, noting that the quarterback is "playing at an extremely high level." He added that Prescott's career trajectory shows a player who continuously gets better, even as physical skills might diminish with age.

"I'm happy to say that he's a better quarterback today than he's ever been," Jones said. "He's playing a position that, even though you might have a little diminished physical skill, it’s a position where if you approach it the way he's approached his career, you will be a better player."

Jones also acknowledged Prescott's overall record as indicative of his skill and highlighted that the quarterback still has the opportunity to achieve championships.

Prescott's ability to stay healthy has been a concern in previous seasons, with limited games played in 2024 and 2020, and 12 games in 2022. However, following a 2025 season where he achieved a career-high 404 completions and his fourth Pro Bowl appearance, Prescott has started the 2026 season strong. The early season loss to the New York Giants appears to be behind the team.
