Jerry Hall Embraces Single Life Post-Murdoch, Finds Joy in Being a 'Fun Granny'

Jerry Hall, 70, has spoken about her contentment in her post-divorce life, describing it as "living the life of Riley." The American model and actress admitted to initial fear about living alone for the first time after her separation from media mogul Rupert Murdoch.

In a recent interview with Grazia magazine, Hall detailed her "perfect" single life, appreciating the absence of male companionship and the resulting tidiness of her home, which she now inhabits alone. Her marriage to Murdoch, which lasted six years, ended in 2022 due to irreconcilable differences. "I had never lived alone in my entire life, until three years ago. I was quite scared," Hall recalled. "After a few months, I was like, wow, this is easy - and my house, it's so tidy!"

Hall shared her perspective on independence, stating, "You don't have to have a boyfriend or a husband. You can just enjoy being on your own."

Despite embracing solitude, Hall's life remains vibrant with regular time spent with her four children: Elizabeth, James, Georgia, and Gabriel. These children are from her previous relationship with Mick Jagger, with whom she was involved from 1977 to 1999. Although they had a Hindu wedding ceremony in 1990, an English court later deemed the marriage legally invalid. Hall maintains a close friendship with Jagger, whom she describes as "a lot of fun and a great dad," primarily due to their shared children.

She is also a grandmother to three children and embraces the role of a "fun granny," emphasizing that she prefers to teach by example rather than nag. "I don't believe in nagging them. I think that's such a bore," she said.

Looking ahead, Hall is set to appear on the television show "Celebrity Traitors," scheduled to begin this Thursday. Her children reportedly cautioned her against engaging in any dangerous activities during filming, noting that she tends to live as if she were still in her twenties. "Mom, don't do anything dangerous! Be careful. You think you're younger than you are," they advised before she traveled to the Highlands for the series.

Hall suggested she might not fully adhere to their advice, describing herself as "very competitive," a trait she shares with her children and Jagger. "Everyone wants to win. I tend to be the leader when it comes to games. But I'm going to try to behave," she stated.

She is among 21 celebrities participating in the show, hosted by Claudia Winkleman. The series, which will air on BBC One, features contestants divided into "Faithfuls" and "Traitors" competing for a £100,000 charity prize.
