Jeremy Renner Shares Tender Moment with Daughter Ava on Rome Red Carpet
Actor, recovering from a severe snowplow accident, appeared with his 13-year-old daughter at a film festival where he discussed his memoir.
Jeremy Renner, the actor known for his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, made a public appearance with his daughter Ava Berlin at the Alice nella Città film festival in Rome on Friday. Renner, 55, was seen planting a kiss on the 13-year-old's head as they walked the red carpet together.
Renner, who typically keeps his daughter largely out of the public eye and off his social media, proudly presented her at the festival. He was there to discuss his memoir, "My Next Breath: A Memoir," which details his near-fatal snowplow accident in January 2023. The accident occurred at his property in Lake Tahoe, where he was run over by a 14,000-pound snowplow, resulting in over 30 broken bones and a period in critical condition.
He credits Ava with playing a significant role in his recovery. "Reason number One for my recovery is her," Renner stated, recalling telling his daughter to "wait for me" upon his return home. He noted that as he improved, Ava also became less fearful, emphasizing that family and friends are powerful motivators for healing.
The memoir and its audiobook feature contributions from Ava. Renner shared that his daughter wrote an essay early in his recovery that he later included in the book. He also expressed pride in Ava's participation in narrating parts of the audiobook, highlighting their journey as a father and daughter.
Renner was attempting to protect his nephew, Alex, at the time of the snowplow incident and initially worried about his nephew's trauma witnessing the event. His memoir delves into the accident, his survival, and the subsequent recovery process. The Italian debut of his book marks a significant milestone in his public return following the life-altering accident.
