Jeremy Clarkson's Grand Tour Cars Go Up for Auction

Three of Jeremy Clarkson's personal cars, famously featured in The Grand Tour, are set to be auctioned off by Iconic Auctioneers at the NEC Classic Motor Show on Saturday, November 14. The vehicles include a 1982 Lancia Montecarlo Spider, a 1983 Alfa Romeo GTV6, and a 1978 Lincoln Continental Mark V.

The Lancia Montecarlo Spider holds particular significance as it was the last car Clarkson drove on The Grand Tour, in the final episode titled "One for the Road." This Italian mid-engined car, finished in Lotus Blue, was modified for the show with parts from a Ferrari 308 and Lancia Delta Integrale. After filming, Clarkson purchased the car for his personal collection.

Also going under the hammer is the 1983 Alfa Romeo GTV6, driven by Clarkson in the "Well Aged Scotch" episode. In this segment, Clarkson navigated Scotland's North Coast 500 in the Rosso Alfa GTV6, encountering memorable issues with its gear change and propshaft. This Italian coupé, equipped with a V6 engine, has covered just 28,315 miles and has undergone in-house maintenance.

The trio is completed by the 1978 Lincoln Continental Mark V, featured in "The Grand Tour Presents: Lochdown." This large 6.6-litre vehicle was modified during filming in Scotland with nitrous injection. It retains the NOS equipment, a set of bagpipes in the boot, and a Cartier clock. Clarkson acquired this car for his collection after expressing his desire for it on screen.

Clarkson stated that he rarely has the opportunity to drive or enjoy these cars anymore, suggesting it is best for them to go to someone who can. The reason for the sale will be explored in the forthcoming series of Clarkson's Farm. Harry Whale, car specialist at Iconic Auctioneers, described the vehicles as "genuine pieces of modern motoring television history," noting their direct connection to Clarkson and familiarity to fans.
