Jeremy Clarkson, the 66-year-old star of Clarkson's Farm, has once again marked the annual A-level results day by sharing his own academic performance and subsequent career success. This year's message, posted to X, detailed his "C and two U" grades and contrasted them with his current life, which includes owning a farm and a brewery.
Clarkson's tradition of posting about his A-level results dates back 12 years, often intended to offer reassurance to students facing their own results. His posts have evolved over time, with his boasts becoming increasingly extravagant. Previous iterations have mentioned owning luxury cars, holidaying on superyachts, owning a pub, and having a chef prepare his meals.
This year, Clarkson wrote, "Don't worry if your A level results are a bit disappointing. I got a C and two Us. And this evening I shall sit in my agreeable garden, drinking beer from my own brewery and eating food from my own farm. Prepared by my own chef."
The presenter's ventures, famously documented in his Amazon Prime series Clarkson's Farm, include his Diddly Squat Farm and his Cotswolds pub, The Farmer's Dog. He also previously highlighted his brewery.
This year's A-level results saw a record number of university acceptances, with 446,690 applicants being accepted on to courses, an increase from the previous year. Overall, 28.5% of entries achieved at least an A grade, the highest recorded outside of the pandemic years when teacher assessments inflated grades. A* grades were achieved by 9.6% of entries.
In recent weeks, Clarkson has also commented on the impact of the heatwave on his farm, describing the harvest as "f***ed" and suggesting that the country could face food shortages due to dry conditions. The National Farmers' Union has warned the government about potential shortages and recommended tax breaks for water storage systems.
Clarkson also recently shared his disappointment at not being able to witness a solar eclipse from his home in the Cotswolds, posting on social media about the limited visibility.
