Jep and Jessica Robertson, known for their roles in the reality television series 'Duck Dynasty,' have relocated their family from Louisiana to North Texas. The couple shared that extensive prayer and discussion preceded their decision to move and establish a new life on Comanche Moon Ranch.

Their journey is chronicled in the new Great American Media series, "Jep & Jess: Beyond the Bayou." The show premiered on Great American Pure Flix on August 13 and is also available on Great American Family and GFAM+.

Jep Robertson noted that the North Texas area holds personal significance, as he visited the region with his father during his youth. He described feeling a divine prompting to pursue the move, stating, "God is just like ‘All right, guys, you know, you should try this,’ and we're like ‘OK, we'll try.'"

The series follows the couple as they transition from their Louisiana roots to building a community focused on craftsmanship, hospitality, and legacy on their Texas ranch. The show aims to explore the challenges and joys of creating a welcoming environment where neighbors connect and relationships deepen.

This new venture marks a return to television for the Robertsons after a period away. Jep indicated that the series will offer a more intimate and faith-forward portrayal of their family life. Early episodes feature discussions with their Bible study group about the significant undertaking of relocating and developing the ranch.

Married for nearly 25 years, Jep and Jessica Robertson acknowledged that their early years of marriage were challenging. They attribute their enduring relationship to faith and the support of others, including Jep's brother Alan and his wife. "Don't give up" is Jep's primary advice for couples navigating difficulties. He explained that it took time for them to become a united team and to learn to move past mistakes.

Jessica Robertson added that the initial years of their marriage were particularly tough due to their young age when they married, having dated for only a few months before tying the knot. She emphasized that their shared love for the Lord is a foundational element of their strong marriage, enabling them to overcome hurts and comparisons.

As they develop the ranch, the Robertsons observe a growing interest in simpler, community-oriented lifestyles. Jessica noted a resurgence in younger individuals seeking to learn traditional skills like sewing, raising chickens, and canning, which hold personal meaning for her. The series, she suggested, offers viewers a chance to experience this lifestyle vicariously or even visit the ranch themselves for a getaway that fosters reconnection with family and friends.
