Jenny Slatten's ALS Battle Worsens, Friend Reports
The '90 Day Fiancé' star is growing weaker each day, according to an update shared via a GoFundMe campaign.
Jenny Slatten, a reality television personality known for her role in '90 Day Fiancé,' is experiencing a worsening of her amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) battle, according to a recent update from a friend.
Penny, a friend of Slatten's, shared the news via a GoFundMe campaign established to support Slatten's medical care needs. "Jenny is getting weaker by the day," Penny stated in the update. Slatten is currently taking Edaravone and Riluzole, two medications intended to slow the progression of ALS, along with supplements including B12, melatonin, and magnesium. These medications reportedly cause her significant fatigue.
Due to the progression of the disease, Slatten is speaking less, as doing so has become painful. Her husband, Sumit Singh, has taken on the role of primary communicator and caregiver. "Sumit speaks more for her and is the main spokesperson for his wife," Penny explained. "Sumit is Jenny’s main caregiver and doing a great job each day."
Despite the decline in her condition, Slatten's loved ones remain hopeful that new treatments may yield positive results. Penny noted that trials involving acupuncture and other holistic services have shown promise in improving mobility and reducing fatigue.
Last month, Slatten and Singh revealed that she had lost the ability to speak. In a video shared on Instagram, Slatten indicated she could no longer talk. Singh explained at the time that the ALS was increasingly affecting her speech.
The couple previously addressed criticism regarding their decision to set up a GoFundMe. They explained that Slatten lacks medical insurance in India, where Singh resides, and did not want to be a financial burden on her three daughters in the United States. Travel to the U.S. is also complicated by visa issues for Singh and Slatten's potential difficulty traveling alone.
Slatten publicly announced her ALS diagnosis in May, approximately one year after she began experiencing symptoms such as choking while drinking water. She received the diagnosis in December 2025. The couple has continued to share updates on her condition with fans since then.
Slatten and Singh, who married in 2021, were featured in the third season finale of '90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way.'
