Jenny McCarthy Seeks Solace in a Tent Amidst Mold Poisoning Recovery

Former 'The View' co-host Jenny McCarthy has revealed that she is sleeping in a tent as part of her recovery from mold poisoning, a condition she was diagnosed with in December.

The 53-year-old recounted on her podcast that her illness stemmed from prolonged exposure to mold in a "very, very old" dressing room, which she described as having air conditioning from the 1950s. McCarthy stated that the symptoms she experienced were extensive and included the development of chalazions, cyst-like growths on her eyelids that required surgical intervention, as well as a root canal infection that led to the loss of multiple teeth.

Additionally, McCarthy reported developing rashes, swelling, insomnia, and new food allergies, along with small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO). She shared that her experience has led to a level of paranoia, making her hesitant to sleep indoors.

Despite undergoing mold remediation in her home, which she stated cost tens of thousands of dollars and involved a specialist, McCarthy confessed that she has become "paranoid now about basically sleeping anywhere." This heightened anxiety has prompted her to move into a tent, which she clarified she was "not even joking" about. Images shared by McCarthy appeared to show the tent set up in her backyard.

McCarthy noted that her tent is equipped with a rainproof cover, and while she doesn't worry about rain in California, she does express concern about "chemtrails and also sprinklers."

Now in "month seven of detox," McCarthy described her current state as being "too paranoid to, honestly, to freaking live anywhere else other than a tent." She added, "That's where this journey has brought me. After all those surgeries, after being diagnosed with mycotoxin poisoning, I feel a little bit sometimes crazy and like the walls are caving in and paranoid. It's really, really hard."

She further elaborated on the psychological impact, mentioning that individuals with mold poisoning can experience PTSD. "I'm still in the traumatic part," she said, "I'm not even in the 'post' part yet, because I feel like now everything is mold. I can detect mold, honestly, like a mold dog."

McCarthy recounted the physical discomfort, particularly regarding the chalazions on her eyelid. She described the swelling as so severe that she "always felt bad for Donnie" Wahlberg, her husband, questioning how one could have intimacy with her in that state. She also detailed the pain associated with an infected root canal, which caused significant gum swelling.

One early sign of her own sickness, McCarthy said, was an infected root canal, resulting in swelling that 'looked like a hot air balloon blew up in my gum'

During the filming of 'The Masked Singer,' where she serves as a judge, McCarthy soldiered through the pain, attempting to conceal the growing chalazion with her hair. She admitted to taking painkillers, stating, "I'm gonna turn into Anna Nicole Smith on this show. But I didn't care. I was in so much pain."

As her health declined, McCarthy lost multiple teeth and underwent repeated surgeries. The chalazions made her feel "so ugly" that she began wearing sunglasses constantly, even on red carpets, where she would refuse photographers' requests to remove them.

In the month preceding the release of her podcast episode, McCarthy and Wahlberg listed their home in St. Charles, Illinois, for $2.799 million. They had purchased the four-bedroom, 5.5-bathroom property 11 years prior for $1.1 million. The sale of their home occurred as they reportedly moved to California.

McCarthy's past public statements regarding vaccinations, particularly her assertions that her son Evan developed autism due to the MMR vaccine, have been a source of controversy for decades. She has stated that she does not tell people not to vaccinate but wishes to question the standardized vaccine schedule.
