Jennifer Lopez Shines at Los Angeles Opera Ball
The singer and actress stunned in a Dolce & Gabbana gown and fur-trimmed coat, while also reflecting on her life as an empty nester.
Jennifer Lopez made a striking appearance at the Los Angeles Opera Ball Opening Night Gala on Saturday. The entertainer, 57, chose a plunging black Dolce & Gabbana dress complemented by a distinctive coat featuring a thick brown fur collar and cuffs. The black fabric of the coat was embellished with a colorful floral pattern and lined with satin in a pale blue hue.
Lopez paired the ensemble with open-toe black platform heels, statement jewelry, and her hair styled in a sleek low bun with face-framing pieces. Her makeup featured a smoky mauve eye, coordinated blush, and matte lipstick with a darker liner.
Earlier, Lopez shared a glimpse of her outfit on Instagram, captioning a carousel post with "Night Out" and a series of heart emojis matching her coat's color palette. The post offered her 239 million followers a close-up view of her ensemble.
In a recent reflection shared via her JLo Beauty brand, Lopez spoke about embracing a new chapter as an empty nester, with her twins, Max and Oskar Muñiz, having recently left for college. She discussed the importance of maintaining daily routines, such as workouts and skincare, as anchors during transitional times.
"It's a scary time, it's a transitional time, it's a new beginning in a lot of ways," she stated, emphasizing the need to stay hydrated, happy, joyful, and productive. Lopez welcomed her twins with ex-husband Marc Anthony in 2008.
Also in attendance at the gala was actress Angela Bassett, 68, accompanied by her husband Courtney B. Vance, 66. The couple coordinated in black suits with white accents. Bassett wore a textured pantsuit with floral embellishments on her blazer, while Vance sported a white shirt, top hat, and thick-rimmed glasses. Bassett and Vance are parents to fraternal twins Bronwyn and Slater.
