Jennifer Lopez is preparing for an "empty nest" with a heartfelt send-off for her 18-year-old twins, Max and Oskar, who are preparing to leave for college. The singer recently shared a series of emotional posts from an Italian road trip with her children, capturing their final moments together before they embark on their higher education journeys.

"Road tripping with my coconuts before they head off to college," Lopez captioned an Instagram post, accompanied by a crying emoji. The vacation included selfies and candid snapshots of her twins as they explored Italy. One photo featured Lopez smiling broadly with her children, who were also celebrating their recent academic achievements.

Lopez revealed that both Max and Oskar were accepted into all five colleges they applied to and each received scholarships. "I am so proud that they set goals for themselves," she stated, noting their hard work since fifth grade. She also shared that her children, who have ADHD, navigated academic challenges with determination. "They did what they said they were going to do, and they're good people," Lopez said, emphasizing her pride in their character over solely their grades.

Oskar, who was born Emme, recently revealed his transgender identity at his high school graduation. He is reportedly preparing to attend Sarah Lawrence College. Max and Oskar are Lopez's children with ex-husband Marc Anthony. Lopez described the upcoming transition as an emotional time, reflecting on their close bond. "It's been the three of us," she said. "They've always been there, and I've always been there."

Lopez has also made personal adjustments in anticipation of her twins' departure, downsizing to a $18 million mansion in Hidden Hills, California. She also retains ownership of a $61 million mansion previously shared with ex-husband Ben Affleck, which they have been attempting to sell since July 2024.
