Jennifer Lopez Finds Constant Group Chats Annoying
The singer expressed a desire for group chats to have a definitive end, stating they "never stop."
Jennifer Lopez has revealed that a persistent group chat is a source of everyday annoyance for her. In a video released Wednesday, the singer told Bilt Founder and CEO Ankur Jain that the "group chat that never stops" is what's "living rent-free" in her head.
Lopez, 57, expressed a wish for more concise communication, stating, "I need one person to say, ‘Sounds good.’ And just end it. Be brief. End it. We can’t go on forever." She added, "Sometimes I think the group chat wants to go on forever, but I don’t want it to. I want it to end."
The discussion took place during a conversation with Bilt in acknowledgment of their collaboration for November Rent Day®, a monthly rewards event for Bilt Rewards members and cardholders. As part of the collaboration, Bilt is offering members an exclusive cherry-red vinyl edition of Lopez's 2011 album “LOVE?”. The vinyl includes her biggest hits, such as “On the Floor,” and a new track titled “Proof of Love.”
Lopez noted the song's resurgence in popularity after its inclusion in the Prime Video series “Off Campus,” which led to a viral moment 15 years after its initial release. "It’s funny how you can have a song come out in 2011 and then [it has] this whole new life. Nothing is old anymore, because people are discovering these things all the time and it’s new for them,” she said.
Jain praised Lopez, stating, "There aren’t many people whose name alone is synonymous with what they stand for." He highlighted her career trajectory, noting, “Jennifer started in the Bronx [New York] and has been a step ahead for decades, in music, film, and business, and she never lost the neighborhood in any of it.” Jain added, “Having her play Rent Free™ and help cover Bilt Members’ rent is a real honor for us.”
Bilt is described as a membership and hospitality platform for residential living. It allows members to earn rewards on rent payments, access neighborhood services, and work toward homeownership. Points can be redeemed across various travel and lifestyle partners, including airlines, hotels, and restaurants.
The exclusive “LOVE?” vinyl featuring the new song “Proof of Love” is currently available for pre-order.
