Vogue World event in Milan featured a blend of fashion, celebrity, and an unexpected presence of humanoid robots.
Jennifer Lopez made a striking appearance at Vogue World in Milan, showcasing a 1950s-style black lace Dolce & Gabbana cocktail dress on the catwalk. The event, held in the historic Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, celebrated Italian fashion and creativity.
Lopez, 57, was joined by other notable figures who walked the runway, including Helena Christensen, 57, and Iris Law, 25. Among the VIPs in attendance were Naomi Campbell, 56, dressed in a Matieres Fecales tweed suit; Dakota Johnson, 36, in a black Valentino ensemble; and Pamela Anderson, 59, wearing a gold Ferragamo gown.
Supermodel Gigi Hadid opened the show, which featured looks from renowned Italian designers such as Armani, Gucci, Versace, Prada, and Fendi. Francesca Ragazzi, Vogue Italia’s head of editorial content, described the event as a celebration of 'Made in Italy,' emphasizing craftsmanship and genius, particularly noting its relevance in the current era of artificial intelligence.
Adding an unconventional element to the fashion showcase, four humanoid robots also appeared on the catwalk. One social media observer commented on their presence, noting that they were not wearing clothes. Designers Miuccia Prada and Alessandro Michele were observed not clapping during the segment featuring the robots.
The event also drew attention for its sponsorship by Eli Lilly, the pharmaceutical company known for its weight-loss drug Mounjaro. The presence of the sponsor sparked discussion in the context of fashion's long-standing emphasis on thinness as an aesthetic ideal.
