Jennifer Lopez, 57, Flaunts Fit Physique After Ben Affleck Discusses Her Career Snubs

Jennifer Lopez, 57, showcased her toned physique following a gym session in Santa Monica, California, on Wednesday. Her appearance came shortly after her ex-husband, Ben Affleck, discussed his perspective on her acting career and potential awards snubs in a recent interview with Variety.
Lopez was seen exiting the gym in Santa Monica, wearing a cobalt green sports bra and matching high-waisted leggings that highlighted her midriff and biceps. She accessorized with white athletic socks, trainers, and aviator sunglasses with lavender-tinted lenses. Her caramel-colored hair was swept back, revealing golden earrings.
In the Variety interview, Affleck spoke about Lopez's performances, suggesting they have been overlooked by awards bodies. "I’m biased. I have an enormous amount of respect and admiration for what she can do," Affleck stated. "What I’ve found with awards is that sometimes the degree of commercial success for things doesn’t always correlate to my taste. It’s a part of this weird, subjective business that people bring a lot of their own stuff to."
He further commented on the subjective nature of awards, noting, "But guess what? I don’t think you die and go to heaven, and God says, 'This was the actual best picture in 1986.' At the end of the day, it’s just a bunch of people voting on movie prizes."
Affleck and Lopez rekindled their romance in 2021, years after their initial separation in 2004. They married in Las Vegas on July 16, 2022, followed by a larger ceremony at Affleck's Georgia property in August 2022. Lopez filed for divorce on their second wedding anniversary, with the divorce finalized in early 2025.
Despite their separation, the former couple have maintained an amicable relationship, appearing together on the red carpet for the premiere of "Kiss of the Spider Woman" last October. Affleck also shares three children with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner: Violet, 20, Fin, 17, and Samuel, 14.
The "Good Will Hunting" actor also touched on his experiences with internet memes and his daughter's nickname for him, "the beleaguered man." He discussed the viral "smoking Ben" meme from 2016, explaining that it captured a difficult moment he was experiencing. Affleck emphasized the importance of having a sense of humor and being "in on the joke" with the public.
Affleck also spoke about his production company, Artists Equity, co-founded with Matt Damon, which aims to reimagine Hollywood economics by sharing revenues and profits with creators and crew.
Reflecting on personal loss, Affleck mentioned the recent deaths of his mother, Chris Affleck, from pancreatic cancer in June, and his father earlier in September. He shared reflections on mortality and the importance of living in the present, drawing lessons from his mother's final months.
