Jennifer Lawrence Recalls Awkward Comment to Bradley Cooper During 'Silver Linings Playbook'

Jennifer Lawrence has revealed an awkward moment with her "Silver Linings Playbook" co-star Bradley Cooper, which occurred after a significant kissing scene in the 2012 film.

During an appearance on Alex Cooper's "Call Her Daddy" podcast, Lawrence recounted asking Cooper, "Aren’t you so sick of kissing?" She noted that Cooper "didn’t like that," though she believes he ultimately laughed. Lawrence described the exchange as one of those moments where "you’re like, ‘Right?’ And the other person’s like, ‘Oh.'"

Despite the brief awkwardness, Lawrence expressed that the interaction remains one of her cherished memories from filming the Oscar-winning movie. In "Silver Linings Playbook," Lawrence played a young widow who develops a relationship with a recently divorced man, portrayed by Cooper, who has bipolar disorder.

Lawrence also admitted to feeling nervous when she first met Cooper, who had gained significant fame for his role in "The Hangover." "He was the biggest celebrity I think I ever met at that time," she recalled.

Regarding her performance in the film, directed by David O. Russell, Lawrence confessed that she pretended to be confident in her dancing, even though she felt her moves were poor. "After we finished filming, I had to do ADR to say like, ‘Yeah, I’m not that good of a dancer, but I like it, It’s fun, it makes me happy,’ because my dancing was so bad and it needed to be explained in the movie," she explained.

Lawrence and Cooper went on to collaborate on several other films, including "American Hustle" (2013), "Serena" (2014), and "Joy" (2015), forging a close friendship.

In a 2015 interview, Lawrence expressed her admiration for Cooper, stating that she always thought of him for male roles because she considers him the best. Cooper, in turn, spoke of his deep respect for Lawrence as a professional and actor, saying he constantly learns from her.
