Jennifer Lawrence on Plastic Surgery: 'I Want to Be a Sexy Mom'

Jennifer Lawrence has confirmed she underwent a breast augmentation procedure, stating that her body did not "bounce back" after the birth of her second son last year.

The 36-year-old actress shared in an interview with The Cut that her motivation for the surgery was a desire to "be a sexy mom" and to feel more put-together when dropping her children off. "At drop-off, I want to look like a woman that has her st together even when I've just woken up and don't have my st together," she said.

Lawrence underwent the surgery prior to filming a nude scene for Martin Scorsese's upcoming film "What Happens at Night," which has recently completed production. She indicated that while the prospect of the scene influenced her decision, she would have pursued the procedure regardless. "Maybe I wouldn't be hustling to the appointment in the same way, but I think yes," she stated.

In October 2025, Lawrence had previously mentioned plans for breast enhancement following her second pregnancy. "Everything bounced back, pretty much, after the first one [referring to her three-year-old son, Cy]. Second one, nothing bounced back," she told The New Yorker.

Lawrence also discussed her approach to other cosmetic procedures, noting that she avoids fillers because they are visible on camera. She uses Botox sparingly, explaining that she needs facial movement for her roles, particularly for characters who "don't have access to celebrity dermatology."

Previously, Lawrence addressed speculation about a nose job, attributing changes in her appearance to losing "babyweight in my face" and natural aging. She also admitted to Vogue that she would be interested in buccal fat removal but refrains from it because "everybody would know."

In addition to her personal life, Lawrence has ventured into the beauty industry with her newly launched haircare company, Mes, which offers a volumizing mist, a repair mask, and a serum. She described herself as "dumb but cute" regarding the business, admitting she has "no clue" about its financial aspects.
