Jennifer Garner was seen leaving a church service in Santa Monica on Sunday, appearing joyful and smiling. Her outing followed a birthday lunch with her ex-husband Ben Affleck and two of their children, Fin and Samuel, to celebrate Affleck's 54th birthday on Saturday.
Garner was dressed in a white crew-neck T-shirt and a blue-and-white patterned skirt, complemented by white sneakers and a light-colored cardigan. She also wore black-rimmed sunglasses with ombre-tinted lenses. Their children together are Violet, 20; Fin, 17; and Samuel, 14.
Earlier, Garner had spoken about the challenges of raising her children in the public eye. She recalled instances where the attention from paparazzi made everyday activities, like attending her children's soccer practices, difficult. Garner noted that the situation had become so intense that an association asked her to stop attending the games to avoid disruption.
She also described the impact of photographers on more sensitive moments, such as taking a sick child to the pediatrician. Garner expressed a sense of ambivalence, acknowledging the privileges her career afforded while also recognizing the potential dangers and disruptions caused by the constant press attention.
In addition to her personal life, Garner has been promoting her latest project, the Peacock miniseries "The Five-Star Weekend." The series, based on Elin Hilderbrand's novel, features a cast including Regina Hall, Chloe Sevigny, D'Arcy Carden, and Gemma Chan. Garner, who also serves as an executive producer, described the show as an entertaining exploration of women's experiences with topics like perimenopause and menopause.
