Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox Reportedly Decline Netflix Documentary Offer on Matthew Perry

Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox have reportedly turned down an offer to participate in a Netflix documentary about their former "Friends" co-star Matthew Perry.

An inside source told Daily Mail that both actresses "discussed it and decided together." The decision comes as TV executives had hoped the cast would agree to the project, which was seen by Netflix as a "no-brainer."

Perry, who played Chandler Bing, was found dead in his Los Angeles home on October 28, 2023, at the age of 54. The primary cause of his death was determined to be the "acute effects of ketamine," with drowning and other contributing factors also noted. He had been open about his struggles with addiction throughout his life.

According to the source close to Aniston, "She doesn't see any reason to share her times and thoughts about him publicly any longer." The insider added, "They all loved him, and there's really nothing to gain from revisiting his lowest moments when they'd rather celebrate the man he was."

Instead of participating in the Netflix project, the cast members have reportedly focused on private remembrances and supporting Perry's family. The source also indicated that the actresses reached out to Matthew's half-sister, Mia Perry Bowick, who had not previously done an on-camera interview about him. Her agreement to take part is said to have helped shape the documentary.

The "Friends" cast, which also included Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer, reunited for an HBO special in 2021.
