Jenna Bush Hager recently shared photos of a family vacation in Maine, shortly after she publicly commented on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's decision to not bring their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to the United Kingdom to visit their grandparents for four years. The vacation photos featured Hager, her twin sister Barbara Bush, their mother Laura Bush, and Hager's four children: Mila, Poppy, and Hal. Hager's husband, Henry Hager, was also included in some of the shared images.
Hager's comments regarding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were made on the August 20 episode of "Today with Jenna & Sheinelle." She remarked on the surprising news that Harry and Meghan were reportedly moving back to the UK, noting that their children had not visited their grandparents in Britain for four years.
"Think about little kids' lives, how much changes in four years. It's like, [they're] totally different humans," Hager said during the broadcast. She and co-host Sheinelle Jones discussed the couple's move, with Hager suggesting that their previous statements about leaving royal life were significant. Jones theorized that the move might be to allow the children to spend more time with family.
Hager's family vacation photos, posted on Instagram, included her daughters Mila and Poppy, as well as her son Hal playing by the ocean. She captioned the post with a lyric from Taylor Swift's song "August."
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex relocated from the United Kingdom to California six years ago. Their recent visit to the UK in July marked the first time their children, Archie and Lilibet, had been in Britain in four years. Prince Harry and Meghan are reportedly expected to move back to the UK this month, establishing a private home base while maintaining their residences in California and Portugal. King Charles III has been informed of the plans and reportedly welcomes the opportunity to spend more time with his son and grandchildren.
