Former "Teen Mom" star Jenelle Evans shared an emotional update on Instagram, detailing her difficult journey following knee surgery that has left her with significant pain and mobility issues. The 34-year-old reality personality revealed she is struggling with spinal cysts and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), a chronic pain condition often triggered by injury or surgery.
In a video posted on Monday, Evans explained that the pain intensified after her surgery in April, leading to her CRPS diagnosis. She described the pain as excruciating and now extends from the base of her skull to her tailbone, exacerbating her leg pain. "I am literally in pain from the base of my skull to my tailbone," Evans said. "And it is every single day, every day, on top of my leg pain."
Evans, who appeared on "Teen Mom 2," also disclosed that a syrinx on her spine, a fluid-filled cyst, has grown from 2 millimeters to 4 millimeters. The pain affects her in various positions, with sitting or lying down causing discomfort and an extreme headache when she is supine. She stated that she is still unable to walk on her leg, which frequently flares up.
The ordeal has also impacted her mental health, leading her to seek therapy. "I am literally watching everyone’s lives go past," she said, expressing feelings of hopelessness. "And I am watching everybody having a great summer, great holidays, Labor Day weekend, and I am stuck in the house, and if I try to leave, I am in too much pain." Evans assured her followers that she would not harm herself.
Adding to her challenges, Evans experiences extreme skin sensitivity, making even showering painful due to the sensation of water droplets on her skin. "If I take a shower, the droplets of the shower hitting my legs make it inflamed, and I’m literally crying, and it hurts my back," she explained. "This is probably the hardest thing I’ve ever been through in my life."
Evans is mother to three children: Jace, from a previous relationship; Kaiser, with ex-boyfriend Nathan Griffith; and Ensley, with ex-husband David Eason.
