Jeb Bush, chairman of United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI), lauded former President Donald Trump's administration for its role in significantly diminishing Iran's capacity to destabilize the Middle East. Bush made these remarks at a UANI event on July 8, 2026, where he also highlighted concerns over intelligence suggesting Cuba possesses hundreds of Iranian-made explosive drones.

"We have decimated Iran's capability to make mischief in the region. There's no doubt about it," Bush stated, attributing this success to the Trump administration's policies. He spoke alongside a display of an Iranian Shahed-136 drone, a weapon Iran has employed extensively in the Middle East and supplied to Russia for use in Ukraine.

Bush acknowledged the United States' robust defense capabilities but emphasized that the reported presence of Iranian drones in Cuba constitutes a significant threat. "I also want to point out that the press reports are that there are 300 of these in Cuba," Bush said, gesturing towards the drone on display.

Rep. Carlos Gimenez, R-Fla., who also spoke at the event, described the Shahed drone as a "terror weapon" and representative of the future of warfare, particularly with advancements in artificial intelligence. Gimenez noted the widespread use of similar drones by Ukrainian forces in their defense against Russian aggression.

Former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Mark Wallace, now CEO of UANI, echoed these sentiments, calling the Shahed drone a "ubiquitous terror weapon of mass destruction in modern warfare." Wallace asserted that these drones have targeted allies in the region and impacted U.S. interests.

Wallace indicated to Fox News Digital that the drones in Cuba were reportedly transferred prior to the current U.S.-Iran conflict.
