New York Yankees second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. stated that the recent championship parade for the New York Knicks has intensified his desire to win a World Series with the Yankees. The Knicks captured their first NBA championship in 53 years, leading to extensive celebrations across New York City.
Chisholm, who has experienced conversations with Knicks players about their championship victory, described the experience as a significant motivator. "Me and a couple of my teammates talked about it, and a couple of [Knicks] talked about it as well," Chisholm told Fox News Digital. "I talked to Jalen about it, and just seeing how it felt. Hearing it out of his voice and him getting the goosebumps all over again talking about it. It’s just a feeling you want to experience."
Chisholm expressed that he and his Yankees teammates are "all in" on pursuing a championship. He is focused on the present, aiming to help the Yankees secure a postseason spot as the second half of the 2026 MLB season commences. The team has been navigating the absence of star slugger Aaron Judge, who is recovering from a rib injury. Despite not being cleared for baseball activities, Judge remains an active presence in the clubhouse, offering support and leadership.
"He’s still a big voice in the clubhouse for us," Chisholm said of Judge. "He comes to a lot of road games where he doesn’t have to. He could stay home and rest and do his rehab, but he still makes a point to come and be with the boys and try to help lead us. Even though he can’t help us on the field, he tries to help us when he can off the field. We’re still rallying around him."
The Yankees last won the World Series in 2009. Chisholm admitted to dreaming about experiencing a similar championship parade in New York with the Yankees, envisioning the city celebrating a World Series victory with the same fervor as they did for the Knicks. "You have dreams about it sometimes," Chisholm said. "You sit there, you got to sleep, and you wake up like, ‘Dang, that’s what I want.’ I’ve had that dream of us partying on the parade after we won the World Series, and New York going as crazy it did for the Knicks for us. That’s all we’re looking for."
In related news, Chisholm is among six MLB All-Stars, including Ronald Acuña Jr., Mookie Betts, Pete Crow-Armstrong, Jeremy Peña, and Cristopher Sánchez, who have collaborated with Corona on a limited-edition series of Beach Connect jerseys. Chisholm's design draws inspiration from his Bahamian roots, featuring vibrant colors, sand textures, and musical elements to reflect his island upbringing and love for music. He described the design as an inspiration of "how I grew up, where I’m from, the person that I am."
