Jaylin Lane Suffers Season-Ending Ankle Injury

Washington Commanders wide receiver Jaylin Lane sustained a fractured and dislocated left ankle during the team's game against the Indianapolis Colts in London on Sunday. The injury is expected to end his season.

Lane was hurt on a kickoff return in the third quarter and had to be taken off the field on a cart. A person familiar with the situation confirmed the severity of the injury to The Associated Press on Monday, speaking on condition of anonymity because the team had not yet made an official announcement.

This latest injury represents another setback for the Commanders' offense. The team has already been without starting left tackle Laremy Tunsil due to a torn left triceps muscle. Franchise quarterback Jayden Daniels has also missed the past two games with a dislocated left elbow, and fill-in quarterback Marcus Mariota injured his right knee during the game against the Colts.

The Commanders, currently 1-3, are hopeful that Daniels could return as soon as this weekend when they are scheduled to host the New York Giants.
