Jayden Reed's Fiancée Provides Update After Scary Injury
Aneisha Cox states Packers receiver is recovering day by day following a neck injury.
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed is recovering day by day following a neck injury sustained during Sunday's game against the New York Jets, according to his fiancée, Aneisha Cox.
Cox shared an update via TikTok, stating, "Jayden is doing very good." She added that "It's 100 percent a day-by-day type of recovery." Cox acknowledged the inherent risks of professional football, noting, "Unfortunately, it’s a matter of when, not if" regarding injuries.
Reed was injured on the second offensive play of the game. After catching a pass from Jordan Love, he sustained a hard, helmet-to-helmet hit from Jets linebacker Demario Davis. Reed remained on the ground and was subsequently placed on a stretcher and transported to a local hospital. He remained hospitalized overnight for evaluation.
Packers coach Matt LaFleur confirmed after the game that Reed had movement in all of his extremities. Reed also posted on X, formerly Twitter, saying, "Doing much better, appreciate all the prayers and support."
The severity of the injury and Reed's timeline for return are currently unclear. He did not play in the Packers' subsequent game against the Falcons.
LaFleur stated that "It's way too early for that right now" when asked about Reed's status. "He's just got a lot. There's a lot going on."
Reed, a fourth-year veteran, has experienced injuries previously. He played in only seven games last season after breaking his collarbone in Week 2, requiring surgery and missing 10 games. He finished the 2025 season with 19 receptions for 207 yards and one touchdown.
In the 2024 season, Reed had a breakout performance, leading Green Bay with 857 receiving yards on 55 catches and scoring six touchdowns. He also contributed 163 rushing yards on 20 carries and one rushing touchdown.
Reed began the current season with three catches for 20 yards against Minnesota. In April, he signed a three-year contract extension worth $50.25 million, solidifying his role in Green Bay's long-term offensive plans.
