Jayden Daniels to Travel to London for Practice Amidst Injury Recovery
Quarterback Jayden Daniels will accompany the Commanders to London and participate in practices as he works back from an elbow injury.
Jayden Daniels is set to travel with the Washington Commanders to London for their Week 4 game against the Indianapolis Colts. The quarterback will also practice with the team this week as he continues his recovery from an elbow injury.
While Daniels' return to game action for Sunday's matchup is considered unlikely, his participation in practice marks positive news for the Commanders, who currently hold a 1-2 record this season.
Commanders coach Dan Quinn confirmed Daniels' travel plans and readiness to practice. "That would be him, for sure, yes. But to his credit, he’s been absolutely putting in the work," Quinn stated during a virtual press conference. "I am excited to get him back out on the practice field."
Daniels sustained the elbow injury during the Commanders' Week 2 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. His left arm bent awkwardly during a play late in the first half, leading to him being carted off the field. He subsequently missed Week 3's game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Quinn expressed confidence in Daniels' recovery timeline, citing the medical team's assessments. "We’re just following the guidelines for him going through the process of him getting opinions from New York and L.A. sets the plan in motion," Quinn said. "We’ll stick to that."
In his limited appearances this season, Daniels has completed 29 of 51 passes for 260 yards and three touchdowns, with no interceptions. He has also accumulated 100 rushing yards.
The Commanders are scheduled to depart for London on Tuesday. The game against the Colts will be held at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
