Jay-Z to Headline 2027 Super Bowl Halftime Show
The music mogul was announced as the headliner for the Apple Music Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show.
Rapper Jay-Z is set to headline the Apple Music Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show in February 2027. The announcement was made during Monday Night Football on October 26, accompanied by a black-and-white advertisement featuring the artist.
A message within the ad read, “GOAT’S OUT OF THE BAG,” as Jay-Z’s song “Public Service Announcement” played. Jay-Z expressed his excitement in a statement, calling the opportunity a dream come true after a 30-year career.
"Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world’s biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true,” Jay-Z stated.
The upcoming performance will take place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. This marks the first time Jay-Z will headline the Super Bowl halftime show.
Last year, Bad Bunny headlined the halftime show at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. His performance celebrated his Puerto Rican heritage and featured a lineup of guest artists including Lady Gaga, Ricky Martin, Cardi B, and Karol G.
The Super Bowl LVI halftime show, held in 2022 at SoFi Stadium when the Los Angeles Rams defeated the Cincinnati Bengals, was headlined by a collective of hip-hop artists including Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar. This performance was noted as the first Super Bowl halftime show to focus exclusively on hip-hop music.
Previous halftime show performers have included Usher, Rihanna, The Weeknd, and Jennifer Lopez and Shakira.
