Actor and comedian Jasper Carrott has shared his pride and love for his daughter, Lucy Davis, after the actress announced she has incurable breast cancer. Davis, widely recognized for her role as receptionist Dawn Tinsley in the BBC sitcom "The Office," has received considerable support since disclosing her diagnosis on Tuesday.
Carrott, a familiar figure on British television for decades, stated in an interview with BBC News that this is a difficult time for the family. "We have been supporting her in every way possible since her diagnosis," he said. "We are so grateful for all the support we have had over this trying time and we are very hopeful for her future being what she wants it to be."
He further expressed his deep affection for his daughter, adding, "We are so proud of our daughter and love her so much. The way she has conducted herself through many traumatic health issues is a lesson to us all."
Carrott, whose birth name is Robert Davis, rose to prominence in the 1970s through his stand-up comedy and popular novelty songs. He has also hosted television programs such as "Canned Carrott," "Golden Balls," and "Carrott's Commercial Breakdown," and acted in comedy series like "The Detectives."
The family has requested privacy during the coming months while thanking the public for their concern and well wishes.
