Jason Kidd and Jeremy Lin Join ESPN Broadcast Team
Former NBA stars Jason Kidd and Jeremy Lin have been hired by ESPN as commentators for the upcoming 2026-27 NBA season.
Former NBA stars Jason Kidd and Jeremy Lin are joining ESPN as commentators for the 2026-27 season, the network announced Thursday.
Kidd, a Hall of Fame point guard and former head coach, will be part of the "new-look" team for "NBA Countdown." He will also serve as an analyst for select games broadcast by ESPN. This move comes after Kidd was relieved of his coaching duties with the Dallas Mavericks following their 26-56 record in the 2025-26 season.
"Excited to join @ESPN for the 2026–27 season!" Kidd posted on X, formerly Twitter. "Looking forward to working with some amazing colleagues and legends of the game, and providing my perspective in the studio for @ESPNNBA Countdown!"
Lin, who became a household name during his "Linsanity" run with the New York Knicks in the 2011-12 season, will be a regular contributor on "NBA Today" and will also serve as a game analyst. Lin had previously worked part-time for ESPN during the 2025-26 season, contributing to their coverage of the Knicks' playoff run.
Kidd and Lin join a roster of analysts that includes Richard Jefferson, Tim Legler, Doris Burke, and P.J. Carlesimo. Kidd had a decorated playing career, earning 10 All-Star selections and reaching the NBA Finals twice with the New Jersey Nets before winning a championship with the Dallas Mavericks in 2011. Lin's breakout performance with the Knicks in February 2012 is remembered for leading the team on an unexpected winning streak.
ESPN's coverage of the 2026-27 NBA season will mark the 25th consecutive year the network has broadcast the league.
