Jason Dohring, known for his role as Logan Echolls in "Veronica Mars," has shifted his focus from acting to farming, inspired by a newfound interest in gardening that began during the COVID-19 pandemic. The 44-year-old actor shared on the "Don’t Do Nothing" podcast that his initial engagement with gardening grew into a significant pursuit over the past three to four years.
Dohring stated that he was so absorbed in his gardening endeavors that he barely noticed the pandemic. This deep dive into horticulture led him to establish three farms.
"We’re just making great food for people ‘cause I really realized that people are getting sick from the food that they’re eating," Dohring explained, expressing a desire to improve the quality and flavor of food available to consumers. He described farming as an art form, particularly in the design and construction of the farms.
He informed his agents of his intention to focus on farming temporarily, and they agreed to continue sending him acting opportunities. Despite his new career path, Dohring has not entirely left acting behind. He recently participated in a short film as a favor and found the experience enjoyable, reaffirming his appreciation for artistic pursuits.
Dohring played Logan Echolls, the love interest of Kristen Bell's character, in "Veronica Mars," which originally aired from 2004 to 2007. The series was later revived for a movie in 2014 and a Hulu series in 2019. He has also appeared in other television shows, including "Moonlight," "Ringer," and "The Originals."
He previously credited Scientology with saving his acting career and improving his understanding of acting and life. Dohring currently resides in Clearwater, Florida, with his wife and four children, near the Scientology headquarters.
