Jasmine Stefanovic Spotted Amidst Dog's Public Muzzling Order
The socialite emerged for a coffee run as her family's dog, Chance the Yapper, was seen in a muzzle, a condition following a dangerous dog declaration.
Jasmine Stefanovic was seen collecting coffee and packages in Sydney on Wednesday, while her family's dog, Chance the Yapper, was out with a professional walker. The eight-year-old dog was pictured wearing a black basket muzzle, a requirement under strict legal conditions imposed on the household.
This comes after Chance was flagged by Australia Post as a potential danger to postal workers delivering to properties where the dog has lived or been cared for. The dog's movements have been subject to scrutiny following an incident earlier this year.
On April 18, an incident occurred near an Ampol service station in Neutral Bay while Chance was being walked. Court documents described the event as 'without provocation' and stated that the person involved suffered a 'serious injury'. Initially, court documents also stated that Chance had attacked another dog, but North Sydney Council later corrected this entry.
North Sydney Council issued a dangerous dog declaration to the Stefanovics on July 15. The couple challenged the declaration, reaching an agreement with the council after engaging a solicitor specializing in dog-related legal matters.
Under a four-year control order, Chance must be muzzled and kept on a leash whenever in public. The dog is also required to undergo behavioral or socialization training with a qualified expert within six months, with a certificate of completion to be provided to the council. Australia Post confirmed that its system contains warnings related to properties where Chance has been present, although no postal worker had reported being attacked by the dog at the relevant Castlecrag properties.
