Jared Leto has sold a Los Angeles mansion he owned for $12 million, earning a profit of more than $7 million. The actor finalized the real estate deal for the property in May, according to a Tuesday report from TMZ. The mansion, located in Laurel Canyon, was previously used as a base for the U.S. Air Force.
Leto, 54, had purchased the 14,649-square-foot home in 2015 for $5 million. The property features six bedrooms and five bathrooms, situated on 1.4 acres of land.
The mansion boasts several unique amenities, including three 35-millimeter screening rooms, a temperature-controlled film vault, and a sound stage. The property was historically used for training films for the Army and newsreels for the Air Force, featuring Hollywood figures such as Bob Hope, Jimmy Stewart, and Gregory Peck.
Notable features from its past include four-foot-thick concrete blast walls, a shelter, and an air-traffic control tower. Leto previously shared that the soundstage had been converted into a studio for his band, Thirty Seconds to Mars. He also mentioned the unusual rumors surrounding the property's history, including suggestions of its use in filming portions of the moon landing or as a former prison. Leto's representatives have been contacted for further comment.
