Jared Goff Reunites with High School Teachers for Pregame Huddle

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff shared a pregame huddle with five nuns who were his high school teachers at Marin Catholic School in Kentfield, California. The reunion took place at Ford Field before the Lions' game against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.

Goff attended Marin Catholic from 2010 to 2013, where he excelled as a three-sport varsity athlete. During the 2012-2013 season, he led his football team to both a CIF State Championship appearance and a NorCal State Championship.

One of the nuns, Sister Miriam, who attended the game, recalled Goff's composure on the field during his high school years. She stated that she always believed he was destined for the NFL due to his ability to "Stay calm and cool, he thinks like the coach. There’s a prudence out there."

After high school, Goff enrolled at the University of California, where he played quarterback for three years. He finished his college career with over 12,200 passing yards and 96 touchdowns. Goff was selected as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams, leading them to a Super Bowl appearance in 2018.

He was traded to the Lions before the 2021 season. In 2024, Goff led the Lions to the NFC Championship game, where they lost to the San Francisco 49ers 34-31. This season, the Lions hold a 3-2 record after five games. Goff has thrown for 1,485 yards and 12 touchdowns so far this year. The Lions are seeking their first win against the Packers since December 5, 2024.
