Janeane Garofalo, a veteran comedian and actress, was recently seen during a rare public appearance in New York City. The 62-year-old, recognizable for her work on 'Saturday Night Live' and her roles in films like 'Reality Bites' and Disney's 'Ratatouille,' was photographed in a casual outfit while walking through a quiet area of the city.

Garofalo sported a dark gray tank top, red Adidas track pants, and black sneakers, accessorizing with light pink sunglasses. Her dark hair was worn down, falling past her shoulders.

Her career began in stand-up comedy in the 1980s before she transitioned to television in the early 1990s. She appeared in 'The Ben Stiller Show' and 'The Larry Sanders Show' before joining the cast of 'Saturday Night Live' from 1994 to 1995. Garofalo has described her time on SNL as a difficult experience.

Following SNL, she took on roles in various television shows including 'NewsRadio,' 'Seinfeld,' and 'The West Wing,' where she played Louise Thornton from 2005 to 2006. Her filmography includes 'The Truth About Cats & Dogs,' 'Romy and Michele's High School Reunion,' and the cult classic 'Wet Hot American Summer.' Garofalo also lent her voice to the character Colette in the acclaimed Disney animated film 'Ratatouille' (2007), which won an Oscar for Best Animated Feature.

Garofalo has received two Emmy nominations and one SAG award nomination during her career. She has also voiced characters in 'Rick and Morty' and 'Stranger Things: Tales From '85.' The actress has spoken about her early inspiration in comedy, citing Woody Allen and Albert Brooks as formative influences, and later admired Catherine O'Hara, Andrea Martin, Bill Murray, and Sandra Bernhard.
