Dame Jane Seymour, 75, has revealed that while she maintains a "try anything" attitude toward fitness, certain exercises are off-limits due to her competitive nature. The Emmy winner shared that if she were to engage in activities like yoga, her "A-type" personality could lead her to push herself too hard, potentially resulting in injury.
"I want to win! Which means that I can never have done yoga, and I will decide that I could turn myself into the pretzel like that person. No. No, I cannot," Seymour told Fox News Digital. "I'll end up in the hospital or something, so my approach is to try everything, but do it the way that I know I can. So, I listen to my body."
Instead of yoga, Seymour incorporates ballet barre, sit-ups, light weights, walking, Pilates, and Gyrotonics into her fitness routine. Her diet follows Mediterranean principles, with a preference for organic foods grown at her Malibu home, and she limits her intake of starch and alcohol. She also practices mindful eating by consuming only one large meal daily.
Seymour, known for her roles in "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman" and "Harry Wild," has previously discussed her approach to maintaining her physique, including having had minor cosmetic procedures, such as breast augmentation at age 40 and an eyelift in the 1990s. She also recently announced her engagement to musician John Zambetti.
Seymour also executive produces and stars in the detective dramedy "Harry Wild," which airs on Acorn TV.
