Jane Pratt Leaves Event in Tears Due to Recent Injuries

Legendary editor Jane Pratt was observed departing an East Village photography exhibition on Friday evening in distress. Her abrupt exit from the "Being Good is Golden" show was reportedly due to a significant injury sustained weeks prior.

Pratt, the founder of Sassy and Jane, was at the exhibition when she became overwhelmed and left. Onlookers saw her being comforted outside by friends, including R.E.M. singer Michael Stipe and actor Benn Northover. The incident occurred at the exhibition curated by artist David Belisle.

Sources indicate that Pratt suffered a severe leg gash requiring 19 stitches and a broken sternum after tripping on a low bench while walking near her Chelsea home and typing an email. The injury, which necessitated an emergency room visit, has apparently been aggravated by social interactions, including hugs from friends, which impacted her healing chest.

Pratt, who also helms the newsletter "Another Jane Pratt Thing," had recently signed a deal with Random House to write a memoir titled "It Happened To Me." Nylon has previously referred to her as "media’s patron saint of teenage girls."
