Jan. 6 Rioter Pardoned by Trump Demands Restitution in 'Daily Show' Interview

Yvonne St Cyr, a convicted January 6th rioter who received a presidential pardon from Donald Trump, appeared on "The Daily Show" with correspondent Jordan Klepper to assert her innocence and demand financial compensation.

St Cyr was sentenced to 30 months in prison and three years of supervised release for her participation in the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. She was also ordered to pay over $3,000 in fines. Despite the pardon that shortened her sentence, St Cyr believes she is owed restitution.

"I did not break anything," St Cyr stated during the interview, questioning the fines she paid. When Klepper asked if she was seeking money back for her involvement in the January 6th events, St Cyr responded affirmatively, stating, "We will be compensated. We will be vindicated. And you will feel like an ass for this interview someday."

During the exchange, St Cyr also promoted unsubstantiated conspiracy theories, including the existence of a "shadow government" and the idea that the internet is controlled by the government. Klepper's producer, off-camera, prompted him to repeat his denial of being controlled, which St Cyr seemed to interpret as evidence of control.
