Jamie Miller's Viral Hit "Babydoll" Collaborates with "Off Campus" Star, Achieves Chart Success

Singer Jamie Miller, known for the TikTok viral hit "Babydoll," described his collaboration with "Off Campus" star Antonio Cipriano as "mind-boggling" and a pivotal moment in his career. Miller, originally from Cardiff, Wales, had been contemplating ending his music career at the start of 2026 due to financial and emotional strain, viewing it as his "last chance."

However, over the summer, "Babydoll" gained significant traction on social media, sparking a viral dance trend, reaching the UK top 10, and topping the US iTunes pop chart. Miller connected with Cipriano after the actor commented on the song, leading to a spontaneous recording session in Los Angeles the same day they first met.

"It was the best time ever," Miller stated. "We're coming up at the same time, he has an amazing career in acting and I feel like the stars aligned even for us to do this and the world is rallying around us as a duo too. The opportunities that we're having right now are incredible."

"Off Campus," the Amazon Prime Video series based on Elle Kennedy's books, has also achieved significant success, ranking as the third most-watched series launch in the platform's history. The show's soundtrack features a mix of established and new music, raising the profiles of various artists.

Miller expressed his admiration for "Off Campus" and Cipriano's work, stating he would "love to" be involved with the series in any capacity in the future.

On Friday, the original version of "Babydoll" climbed to number two on the official UK charts, surpassed only by Taylor Swift's "Patient Zero." Miller also recently supported The Jonas Brothers on their US tour, bringing Cipriano out as a guest performer at some shows. He described the experience of their joint arena debut as "mind-boggling," noting their mutual support during such a significant career milestone.

"Introducing him gave me chills because, as well as my dreams coming true right now, his dreams are too," Miller said. "It's so nice and needed, to have a friend who can guide you through."

Miller's musical journey began at age 19 on "The Voice UK," where he placed third. His early exposure to performance came from a primary school play, where an unexpected positive reaction to his singing sparked his passion.

Now 29, Miller reflected on the challenges of the past few years, citing industry changes and personal life events that left him feeling adrift. He characterized the current year as his "last chance to try and cut through" in a difficult and expensive industry.

"Going into this year, I'd built my career off sad music, and I'm not sad anymore, I'm happy," Miller explained. "I think 'Babydoll' maybe brought a bit of light to a world that needed it. I know that sounds really cliché to say, but I do feel that is true, we needed some joy."

Responding to accusations of being an "industry plant," Miller, who has been pursuing music for nine years, stated, "I wish I was an industry plant." He clarified that his recent success occurred organically, without a planned social media campaign, driven by a desire to have fun during what he considered his final attempt at a music career.

"Babydoll's" organic rise saw Miller collaborate with various celebrities, including Jennifer Love Hewitt, Lucy Hale, Julianne Hough, and Meghan Trainor, many of whom expressed that they "needed this song." Miller views the song as having unified people and brought smiles during a challenging time.

Looking ahead, Miller expressed pride in his new music and excitement for his upcoming album and tour, particularly the prospect of bringing it to Wales. He acknowledged the rapid changes in his life over the past few months, noting, "It feels like so many life changes are happening around me, but I'm still the same person. It's dystopian, in a way."

As a Welsh native, Miller feels a responsibility to represent his home country, citing Tom Jones as a significant figure who has previously flown the flag for Wales in the music industry. "I'm very appreciative for everything that's going on right now, and thank my lucky stars. I just hope I'm doing Wales proud, to be honest."
