Jamie Laing recently shared photographs of his wife, Sophie Habboo, and their baby son, Ziggy, enjoying a sun-drenched vacation in Mallorca. Laing, 37, posted a picture of Habboo, 31, relaxing on a sun lounger in a black bikini on his Instagram Story. She also shared her own social media updates from the trip, including images of herself in a white co-ord outfit and cradling their son.
The couple's holiday follows their attendance at the wedding of former "Made in Chelsea" co-star Emily Blackwell to Jordan Oldershaw. Several other "Made in Chelsea" cast members were also present for the wedding festivities.
Laing's recent social media activity comes after a podcast conversation between him and Habboo about their experiences in the weeks following their son Ziggy's birth gained attention. In the discussion, Laing recounted asking Habboo to resume sexual intimacy approximately three weeks after she gave birth. Habboo described her husband's reaction as tearful begging, stating she was physically unable to comply due to postpartum recovery and needed medical clearance.
In response to the clip, a representative for Habboo issued a statement clarifying their relationship dynamic. "Jamie and I have always had a relationship based on equality and mutual respect," the statement read. "We don't want our comments to be misunderstood, and whilst they might have been delivered in a light-hearted couple conversation as per the style of the podcast show, in no way should this be seen as making light of serious matters that do exist for many men and women. We always take on board the feedback of our listeners and we will continue to do so."
During the podcast episode, Habboo detailed the couple's period of near-celibacy during her pregnancy. She explained that they had been intimate only twice during the entire year of her pregnancy. She recalled Laing's distress over their lack of intimacy post-birth, describing him as being "literally crying" and insisting that the situation was "not normal." Habboo further elaborated on her physical recovery, mentioning stitches and the demanding schedule of caring for a newborn.
To address Laing's concerns, Habboo stated she insisted he call their doctor to confirm the medical necessity of waiting for clearance before resuming sexual activity. Laing humorously recounted his wife's explanation of her physical state and exhaustion.
