Jamie Laing Mistaken for 'One Tree Hill' Stalker by U.S. Audience
Former reality star Jamie Laing's appearance at 'Dancing With The Stars' led to humorous confusion among American viewers.
Former Made In Chelsea star Jamie Laing found himself the subject of amusement after being mistaken for a character from the American teen drama "One Tree Hill" by U.S. audiences. The incident occurred during a recent episode of "Dancing With The Stars" where Laing was in attendance as a guest.
Laing, who is currently in Los Angeles with his wife Sophie Habboo, shared a comparison photo on Instagram with actor Matt Barr, who portrayed the "psycho stalker" Ian Banks, also known as Derek, in the series. Laing captioned the post, "Not the US audience thinking I was Peyton Sawyer's Stalker from One Tree Hill... Apparently his name is Derek."
The post quickly garnered reactions from fans, many of whom flooded the comments with laughing emojis. Viewers from both the U.S. and Canada chimed in, with some confessing they also did a double-take upon seeing Laing's appearance.
Laing and Habboo have been in Los Angeles for several weeks, reportedly filming episodes for their podcast. Laing also recently posted a tribute to Habboo for her birthday.
In previous statements, Laing has spoken candidly about the challenges of fatherhood, describing the period after the birth of his son, Ziggy, as being "in the trenches." He noted the difficulty of balancing business responsibilities with parenting, a stark contrast to his more "selfish" pre-parenthood life where his business was his primary concern. He described the experience of early parenthood as a constant effort to stay afloat, likening it to treading water, but emphasized his love for this demanding phase of life.
