Jamie Laing has candidly shared that fatherhood has been a more significant challenge than he anticipated since welcoming his son, Ziggy, in December. The 37-year-old reality television personality described his current experience as being "in the trenches," juggling business responsibilities with the demands of looking after his seven-month-old child.

Laing reflected on his pre-parenthood life, admitting to having lived a more "selfish" existence where his business was his primary concern. He recalled the freedom of waking up and deciding his day, whether it involved the gym, coffee runs, or walks, with work often encroaching on personal time. Now, his son is the first and last focus of his day, with the hours in between filled with trying to accomplish as much as possible.

He likened the experience to "treading water, waiting for a ladder to be dropped down from a boat," acknowledging the beauty of the situation while also describing the constant effort required to stay afloat. Despite the intensity, Laing expressed his love for this new phase of life, stating, "leave me here hahahaha. I love it!!"

Laing shared these reflections as a "little life update" for his followers, including his wife Sophie Habboo, and for others who might relate to the experience. He emphasized that the past seven months have been a "wild ride" but one he wouldn't trade. He offered solidarity to others in a similar situation, assuring them they are not alone in the "mental" but ultimately rewarding journey of parenthood.

He also humorously apologized to anyone he had previously told he was tired before becoming a father, joking, "I didn't know the meaning of the word."

Alongside his personal reflections, Laing posted a video montage of key moments from Ziggy's first seven months, including his birth and early outings. The couple is currently vacationing in Mallorca, celebrating milestones such as the wedding of former co-star Emily Blackwell. Laing shared images of his wife, Sophie, enjoying the holiday, highlighting her recovery seven months after giving birth. They were also seen enjoying family time with Ziggy on the island.
