Jamie Chung's Home Destroyed by Fire Just One Year After Escaping Wildfire

Actress Jamie Chung revealed that her Atlanta home was rendered 'unlivable' after a large fire on the roof last summer. This incident occurred just one year after her Los Angeles residence was destroyed by wildfires in January 2025.

Chung, 40, shared her experience with People magazine, stating that while no one was harmed in the Atlanta fire, the loss of the property was 'traumatic,' particularly given the recent destruction of their home in California. She was in Atlanta filming the holiday movie 'The Holiday Spark' when the fire broke out.

"There was a big fire on the roof and a lot of people evacuated," Chung told the outlet. "My apartment's unlivable at the moment, but that's to be expected."

Despite the emotional toll, Chung has developed coping mechanisms for dealing with such crises. She stated that she is better with logistics and believes the key is to remain calm and focus on family and health.

"I feel like when the fires happened in Altadena, I lost focus of what was important and I got so overwhelmed by the logistics, the paperwork," she explained. "Getting all my paperwork in order, dealing with the insurance, talking to lawyers, other fire victims."

Chung and her husband, actor Bryan Greenberg, have two sons, twin boys born in October 2021. She credited her children with keeping her grounded and present during difficult times.

"They certainly kept me grounded and present, but grounded in a way like you're not spinning out with anxiety and wondering about the what ifs and whatnot," Chung said of her sons. "Really being grounded and present, enjoying this moment of learning how to read or telling funny joke. I think those kind of things are way more important."

Chung also reflected on her marriage to Greenberg, with whom she tied the knot in 2015. She emphasized the importance of listening to each other, showing empathy, and staying curious within their relationship.

"What I love about Bryan is he understands the business, but also, we're there to support each other. It's not a competition," she told Us Weekly. "We love each other so much and it's just awesome. I love being married to him."

Her new holiday movie, 'The Holiday Spark,' filmed in Atlanta, is scheduled to premiere on The Roku Channel on November 2.
