Australian billionaire James Packer and his fiancée, model Kylie Lim, were observed enjoying the sun on his $200 million superyacht in Portofino, Italy. The couple, who became engaged in March, were seen strolling hand-in-hand along the waterfront.
Ms. Lim, a former Canadian socialite and model, was seen wearing a baby blue halterneck top and shorts, carrying a shopping bag from the designer label Pucci. Packer wore a navy polo shirt, shorts, and a baseball cap. The couple shared a kiss before boarding the 108-meter yacht, named IJE in honor of Packer's children.
Also on board was Australian financier Hamish Douglass. Douglass, who stepped away from his role at investment firm Magellan in February 2022, joined Packer on the yacht. Earlier this year, Douglass publicly discussed his personal life and the end of his 27-year marriage in an interview conducted at Packer's Sydney apartment.
The holiday with Ms. Lim and friends comes four months after the engagement was confirmed. Reports of the engagement surfaced when Ms. Lim was seen wearing a diamond ring in Aspen, Colorado. Packer confirmed the engagement to news.com.au in March, stating, "We are very happy to be engaged and looking forward to the future."
Packer and Ms. Lim were previously together for nearly three years, from late 2017 to 2020, before rekindling their relationship last year. Packer has been engaged five times previously, including to former models Kate Fischer, Jodhi Meares, and Erica Baxter, as well as singer Mariah Carey. He married Meares and Baxter, with whom he has three children.
Packer and Ms. Lim reportedly began dating in 2017 after being introduced by mutual friends in Aspen. They had previously fueled engagement rumors in 2019 during a holiday in Capri, Italy, when Ms. Lim was seen wearing a diamond ring. The couple also traveled to Sydney in 2020 to inspect the Crown Barangaroo casino development.
Packer has previously credited Ms. Lim with providing support during a difficult period in his life, following his split from Carey in 2016 and subsequent struggles with substance abuse. He also sought treatment for bipolar disorder and depression in a Boston facility. In a recent interview, Packer stated that he has been sober for two years and is receiving professional treatment for his mental health, describing himself as being in a "good place."
