James Kennedy, 34, has announced his engagement to girlfriend Jordan Meyers, 23. The proposal took place at Villa D'Este in Lake Como, Italy, during a getaway for the couple.
Kennedy and Meyers, who have been dating for approximately nine months, shared the news of their engagement on Instagram. Kennedy posted photos from the proposal, featuring a large dual-stone ring, writing, "We're engaged!! I love you, adventures with you forever and ever. Thank you for making me the luckiest guy in the world." Meyers shared, "Forever with my best friend. Thank you for all the laughter, smiles, and love you give me. I feel so blessed to fall asleep and wake up next to you every single day— I can’t wait to do that forever."
The engagement comes weeks after the couple publicly announced they are expecting their first child together. "We are thrilled to share that Jordan and I are expecting our first child together," Kennedy said in a statement. "We have previously kept our relationship out of the public eye, and this is the first time we’re sharing it publicly. We wanted to keep things personal while we were building our relationship together, and we’ve shared this news privately with close friends and family for some time now."
Meyers described an immediate connection with Kennedy when they met, stating, "The second I met James, we instantly felt such a strong spark between us." They initially connected on Instagram before meeting in person. Meyers, who is from North Carolina, visited Kennedy for what was planned as a short trip, which has since extended to them being together for eight months.
Kennedy called the pregnancy a "grounding and exciting part of our lives" and that they are focused on "embracing all of the joy, growth, and change that comes with becoming parents."
This news follows an incident in late 2024 when Kennedy was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence. The arrest occurred after an argument with his then-girlfriend Ally Lewber, 30, concerning his drinking. The couple separated shortly after, and Lewber chose not to press charges. Kennedy has since focused on his sobriety, stating a year ago, "I am committed to making meaningful changes in my life. I am taking time to focus on my sobriety, personal growth, and being present for my loved ones."
Lewber has since spoken about the incident, describing Kennedy's arrest as a "wake-up call" and that while she was not physically harmed or felt unsafe, the relationship involved "walking on eggshells" and anxiety over his behavior. She expressed sadness for Kennedy's struggles with alcohol but pride in his current sobriety journey.
Kennedy was previously engaged to Raquel Leviss, his co-star on "Vanderpump Rules." They ended their engagement in December 2021. Kennedy was a regular on the Bravo series until a significant cast overhaul replaced the original lineup.
