James Jordon's Girlfriend Emily Twycross Seen with Swans Midfielder Amid Scandal Fallout

Emily Twycross, girlfriend of Sydney Swans midfielder James Jordon, has been seen with the footballer during a public outing in Sydney. The photographs emerged weeks after Jordon's season was cut short due to a club suspension stemming from a Melbourne hotel incident.

Twycross and Jordon were photographed walking together in Randwick. Jordon, 25, was wearing a grey hooded jumper, a blue cap, and slip-on shoes, while Twycross wore a black T-shirt, plum-colored trousers, and sandals.

The outing follows weeks of scrutiny for Jordon and four teammates – Isaac Heeney, Chad Warner, Nick Blakey, and Riley Bice – who were suspended for the remainder of the season, including finals, for breaching club standards. The Sydney Swans emphasized that these sanctions were independent of a Victoria Police investigation into alleged sexual assault at a Melbourne hotel. No charges had been laid at the time of reporting.

Twycross works in community services, listing Barnardos Australia as her employer and having studied at Deakin University. She has ties to Wodonga, while Jordon's football career included nearby Yarrawonga.

Although the couple generally maintains a low public profile, they attended the 2025 Brownlow Medal ceremony together. Their recent public appearance occurred shortly after Jordon returned to the Swans' Moore Park headquarters on September 23, along with his suspended teammates. During this visit, the players addressed and apologized to staff and members of the club's AFL and AFLW squads. This visit coincided with end-of-season exit meetings.

The five players had previously issued a joint apology acknowledging the impact of their conduct on their partners, families, teammates, and the club. "Our focus will now be on rebuilding trust with the club and the community," they stated.

In August, Swans chief executive Matthew Pavlich explained that the suspensions were due to late-night drinking and bringing women back to the hotel, which fell below the club's standards. He confirmed there was no curfew and that the disciplinary decision was based on breaches of behavioral standards, not the criminal allegations.

Victoria Police had confirmed that detectives interviewed four men in NSW and spoke to three women regarding alleged sexual assault. Three other men were identified as witnesses. While police did not name the individuals involved, separate reports identified Jordon, Heeney, Warner, and Blakey as the interviewed players, with Bice as a witness. The Swans denied that any additional club representatives were present during the hotel incident, stating their inquiries identified only the five suspended players.

All five players were also excluded from All-Australian selection, though they remained eligible for the Brownlow Medal. Jordon, nicknamed 'The Padlock' for his role as a shutdown midfielder, had celebrated his 100th AFL appearance last year. He was initially selected by Melbourne in the 2018 draft and debuted in 2021, becoming a premiership player that season. After 65 games with Melbourne, he joined Sydney as a free agent in October 2023 and is currently contracted with the Swans until the end of 2027.
