Jalen Williams Suffers Gruesome Leg Injury in Thunder's Victory
Oklahoma City guard Jalen Williams was stretchered off the court after a severe lower-leg injury during Sunday's game against the Clippers.
Oklahoma City Thunder guard Jalen Williams sustained a severe lower-leg injury and had to be removed from the court on a stretcher during the team's 108-101 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday. The incident occurred late in the game as Williams drove for a layup and collided with two Clippers players, resulting in his left leg bending awkwardly upon impact with the floor.
The injury visibly shook players and fans at the Paycom Center. Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander appeared distressed as medical personnel attended to Williams. Team trainers covered the injured leg with a towel while signaling for medical staff and a stretcher.
Fans chanted "JDub" as Williams was being treated and gave him a standing ovation as he was carried off. Williams offered a thumbs-up to the crowd from the stretcher.
Gilgeous-Alexander expressed his concern post-game, stating, "I just feel bad for him," visibly emotional. Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault described the situation as "tough on the guys" and indicated that further information regarding Williams' injury would be available on Monday. He noted that the injury "speaks for itself."
Williams had been hampered by injuries in the preceding 2025-26 season, appearing in only 33 games due to hamstring strains and a persistent wrist issue.
